Magnificent pair of breathtaking petrified wood roundels fitted as 2 light sconces. One would never guess that these were once actually living trees with leaves, almost unimaginable due to their spectacular stone-like appearance. The actual age of the petrified wood is unknown, however, it takes approximately 100 years for wood to petrify. It appears that these sconces were petrified in an area with high concentrations of iron oxides, given their astounding colors. These sconces are a true rarity as petrified forests are usually National Parks. Note: We could convert these into a matching pair of end tables by adding bronze bases, if interested please inquire. They are in very nice original condition and have been rewired for the USA.
