A fine example of a Louis XIII-style mahogany chair with high rectilinear back. The suede upholstery is finished with brass studs. The padded armrests terminate in carved lion heads, which rest above turned baluster-form supports. The legs and H stretcher are also baluster form. Circa 1900, France.
