Antique matched pair of French Louis XVI Style Bergère chairs and it’s not very often that we can find an unrestored, all original paint Louis XVI style Bergère chair. By definition, a Bergère chair is an upholstered armchair that originated in the 1700’s and has closed sides, as compared to open armrests seen in other early chairs. A Bergère chair was first and foremost designed for maximum comfort and are highly sought after today. The padded armrest and thick seat cushions were designed for extended periods of lounging.
