Antique Irish scrubbed pine coffee table that was originally born as a small kitchen table. The history of the coffee table may have originated from the Ottoman Empire, where low tables were used in the Japanese tea gardens. However, they were never popular until the invention of the modern television (c1940’s-1950’s) where your coffee table was low enough to watch TV and still hold your drinks.
