Crinoids, commonly known as sea lilies and are members of the Echinodermata phylum along with starfish and sea urchins. This particular Crinoid plate fossil is from Morocco, where we had an old friend who searches them out for us. They look like underwater flowers and are among the oldest fossils known, dating back to the Ordovician period, about 450 million years ago.
