Incredible French Louis XIII armoire from the town of Pamiers, which is located along the river Ariège. Famous for its three bell towers and the birthplace of Gabriel Fauré, one of the greatest French composers and musicians. The town of Pamiers goes back to the 5th century, although our French Louis XIII armoire only dates to the 1700s. The reign of Louis XIII began after his father Henry IV was assassinated in 1610, however, his mother Marie de’ Medici, acted as Regent during his youth. Louis XIII reigned until 1643. This particular antique Louis XIII armoire, was constructed from French walnut and when received in our Chicago factory, was in an unbelievable all original unrestored condition. Our Old Plank restoration department went through all the connections and made sure everything was tight and structurally sound. Cosmetically, the Louis XIII armoire only required a comprehensive cleaning. Should you like it wax or stained a particular color, that is also possible, but they are only original once. **Old repairs seen in images 6 & 17. Small gap, image 7.
