Antique French Trestle Style Farm Table. One of the items that we at Old Plank specialize in, are antique and inhouse built exact copies of old French farm tables and have been constructing them for over 30-years. So, whenever something really special comes in from France and sadly it’s a rarity these days, we all get excited. This antique French farm table really got our juices flowing with its incredible originality. The white oak French table top is over 3” thick and although very difficult to pin a date on a French farm table, at a minimum we believe the farm table is over 200-years old. Now, the most unusual part of this story, there are two of them, so we’re thinking an old French monastery from the 1700’s? When the latest shipment of antique French dining tables arrived and there are many that will be listed on 1stdibs in short order, we immediately run them through the workshop to check for structural integrity and after we send the farm tables into our Old Plank finishing department for evaluation. This decision was an easy one, just wash the table and let the 200-year-old wood speak for itself, for you can’t fake this kind of patination.
