The Hotel Marinette was constructed in 1895 and demolished in 1967. Before the demolition began the hotel held an auction where all of their possessions were sold. Among the Hotel’s inventory were a matched pair of green painted folding dining tables. Before you ask, yes, it is no problem to convert the folding farm or dining tables to a non-folding design. What makes these old painted farm tables so unique is their size and today to find a pair of original painted 10' long tables are virtually impossible. From what we can detect, the green paint is original and the worn grey bottoms also appear correct, but we are more confident on the green being original. The Hotel Marinette in its heyday was considered to be one of the most luxurious hotels north of Green Bay.
