Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was a French illustrator, painter and printmaker, whose subject matter detailed the bohemian lifestyle of Paris during the late 1800’s. 'Ambassadeurs: Aristide Bruant’ was a lithograph print originally produced by Toulouse-Lautrec in 1892. This Toulouse-Lautrec poster was advertising an event with the singer Aristide Bruant at the Ambassadeurs nightclub in Paris. The story goes, that Bruant was a close friend of Lautrec and told the director of the club that he would not perform unless the poster stayed.
