Our antique French Commode or Dresser, was constructed during the Bourbon Restouration period of French history, following the demise of Napoleon in 1814, until the July Revolution of 1830. The brothers of Louis XVI of France, came into power and introduced a conservative fashion. Louis XVI of the House of Bourbon, was executed during the French Revolution (1789–1799). In reference to furniture and decor, this meant the creating a gentler version of the Empire style. This specific Antique French Commode, entered our Old Plank workshops, with the idea of conservation, rather that restoring. Although this is far more laborious in nature, then end results are often more rewarding. The finish was only freshened, although the structural integrity of the Commode was properly attended to. Great look and a beautiful patina.

Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Beautiful patina, structurally restored and please note chip at the front righrt corner of the marble.
