Antique French Louis XVI Side Chair in Hand-Carved Walnut Over 200-Years Old. In the 35-years we have been importing from France, this might be the oldest original Louis XVI Chair we have ever imported and it was not until we did a thorough inspection that we realized just how old the Louis XVI Chair is. Whether it was made in the early 1800's as we wrote in the description, it just as easily could be late 1700's. The dealer in France had it listed as époque, meaning at the same time of King Louis XVI. This would make an ideal small ladies writing table chair or possible a dressing table chair? France, 1800-1809.
Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Structurally sound and we did not do any restoration work. Please note the right leg is cattywampus. Backrest is slightly higher on the left side. Fabric is tired and stained.
