Antique French Plate Rack c1700's Hand-Carved with Pair of Storage Compartments flanking both ends. Our Antique French Plate Rack was most likely the upper section of a French Buffet or Sideboard or as the French would call it, a Vasselier. The French Antique Plate Rack is in original condition and shows quite well with the perfect amount of patina for our tastes, however for those of you who like things perfect, you'd probably want to have it restored.
France, 1760-1799.
Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Being offered in unrestored condition with a great patina. Please note the left side cupboard has three shelves and the right side has two. There are cleats (holders) for another, the shelf itself is missing. The finish is original and thirsty. If you like that look as I do, great. If you prefer a polished look, it'll need refinishing.
