Mid-Century Modern Brass Vitrolite Glass Coffee Tables Attributed Paul McCobb
Vintage ItemMid-Century Modern Brass and Glass Coffee Tables or Cocktail Tables Attributed to Paul McCobb. The Brass Modern Coffee Tables have what we would call a most user-friendly top surface made from Vitrolite White Glass. In the 1930’s shiny glass appeared on store fronts and was primarily produced by the Vitrolite Company or PPG who called their structural glass, Carrara. The brass exhibits a nice original patina and of course could be polished if one wished the modern side tables to look newer. Our Mid-Century Modern Coffee Tables or Cocktail Tables were most likely designed by Paul McCobb, who came to prominence as a design and decorating consultant for Martin Feinman's Modernage Furniture in 1948. Paul also taught at the Philadelphia Museum School of Art.
CONDITION: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Natural patina to the brass. Please note that there is one corner of the Vitrolite Glass that was repaired, but unless you are specifically looking for it, the repair is not noticeable. Please note repair to corner of top, image 9.
