Pair of French Directoire Inspired Bookcases, China Cabinets or Display Cabinets made in house by Old Plank. Roughly 30-years ago we purchased in France a similar Directoire style Bookcase and sent it to England to be reproduced and for many years we imported them, until Fiona the owner decided to retire. With little alternative, we began making the Bookcases here in Chicago in both a 2-door Bookcase as shown here and also in a larger 4-door version that was about 8' long. We might have even produced a few in a 3-door 6' wide bookcase as well. You can spec your own finishes and general dimensions and most actually will have glass panes in lieu of the chicken wire. The original antique Directoire Bookcase did in fact have chicken wire and if you notice the wire is also painted and aged to look weathered.
