Paul McCobb Calvin Linear Group Dresser, Commode MCM
Vintage ItemPaul McCobb Calvin Linear Group Dresser, Chest, Mid-Century Modern Commode American, 1917-1969 Paul Winthrop McCobb (1917-1969) born in Medford, Massachusetts. From an early age Paul wanted to be an artist, and studied at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston. Paul McCobb became recognized when he worked for Martin Feinman's Modernage Furniture in New York in 1948. Later while still working at Modernage, Paul met B.G. Mesberg and the two would later be business partners of the Planner and Directional furniture. Paul McCobb furniture is designed completely without ornamentation and could be best described as pure and honest. Many say that Paul McCobb was responsible for introducing modern design into middle-class America. Our Paul McCobb commode arrived in nice condition, although it lacked a bit of freshness, so our in-house Old Plank finishing department gently removed any sure flaws and gave the McCobb commode a fresh clear-coat. United States, 1960.
Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. We cleaned the surface and applied a clear-coat for protection. Please note wear to Aluminum at the feet.
