USS Isla de Cuba was a former Spanish Navy cruiser, captured by and commissioned into the United States Navy as a gunboat The warship was built in 1886–1987 for the Spanish Navy by Sir W.G. Armstrong Mitchell & Company, Newcastle upon Tyne, in the UK. Isla de Cuba fought in the Battle of Manila Bay in the Philippines during the Spanish–American War in 1898. After the war the U.S. Navy took possession of the ship and repaired the damage. USS Isla de Cuba Officially commissioned on 11th of April 1900 and decommissioned the 9th of June 1904 Measure: Length 195 ft (59 m), beam: 30 ft (9.1 m). Please note the condition of the matte, but the photographs are undamaged.
