Antique French or possibly English, very large brass lantern. Although we purchased this antique brass lantern in France, there is a part of us, that thinks they could have originated in England? What we find most unusual about this antique lantern, other than the very large size, is that it's brass and 90% of the antique lanterns we purchase, are either copper or painted metal of some sort. This antique lantern, has been thoroughly restored for the American market, including the installation of French wavy glass. Measurements provided are for the lantern alone. The chain is 28" long and the canopy is 3" high with a 5.5" diameter.
