Antique Wilmarth Crystal Umbrella or Cane Display Case Made in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the early 1900's. Described in the 1908 Wilmarth catalog as; "one piece plane plate glass top, front and ends, with all exposed edges ground and polished". "Top glass hinged at back and lifts up front first". Missing; NICKEL PLATED UMBRELLA RACK. "Bottom; bored with holes which receive points of umbrellas" or canes? "Base; Tennessee marble 8" high with rounded top edge. Fitted with casters underneath". Beautifully constructed and obviously intended to last forever. United States, 1910-1920.
Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Completely original with no restoration. Far from perfect, but very presentable. Please note in crack in marble base, image 16. There is a chip in the glass at the bottom right corner, images 17 and 18.
