Antique Continental Armoire from the 1700’s and is a Split-Case Cabinet with incredible original hardware. Sounds a bit odd, but for everyone who has struggled to move an Armoire through a tight corridor and make a 90-degree turn, these old Split-Case Armoires are the answer to your dreams. This circa 1700’s large Antique Continental (term used when we know it’s from Europe, but not positive from what country) Armoire comes apart into two sections and will virtually fit through almost any opening and goes together in just a couple of minutes. Our workshop here at Old Plank went through the Armoire structurally, but left it alone cosmetically in its raw finish. We can imagine the Cabinet blending seamlessly with modern or antique surroundings with its light washed exterior and it might be fun to paint the interior in a vibrant colour.
