French Art Deco Store Counter, or as the Brit's would call a Shop Fitting, which in our very biased opinion could make a great Kitchen Island. One of the most common requests we get these days is; “do you have anything we could make into a kitchen island?” This Art Deco French Shop Fitting or Store Counter is almost begging to be placed in a kitchen. We painted the interior a soft green sourced from an original painted 18thc French buffet we had years ago and kept samples of the green. We had our finisher strip the well-worn finish, which was well beyond the desirable patina stage, but is typical with commercially used items and is to be expected. Currently it has a limed finish which can be toned down with a glaze of your choosing.
