Robert Mouseman Thompson. An English Oak 7' 6" Bench, with a rail back and solid plank seat, on four square section legs joined by a stretcher, 228.5cm by 38cm, 74.5cm high. Robert "Mouseman" Thompson (7 May 1876 – 8 December 1955), also known as 'Mousey' Thompson, was a British furniture maker. Mousey was born in Kilburn, Yorkshire, England, where he hand-made English Oak Furniture. Robert Mouseman Thompson was part of the 1920s Arts and Craft movement, led by William Morris and others. Our Arts and Craft Mouseman bench does not have the traditional carved mouse and the reason is, when they made pairs frequently only one Mouseman item would have the mouse. The Mouseman bench shows no signs of prior repairs or ever having been refinished. England, 1910-1930.

Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Nice original unrestored condition. Original Patina.
