Squero di San Trovaso, an old gondola boatyard on the Dorsoduro in Venice. A large Palladian style building rises above the rest, signifying a remarkable feat of Classic architectural decoration. The azure blue skies, the tranquillity of the water mated to the seemingly deserted harbor transports one's soul to a more relaxed time and place. Signed on the lower right corner with the letters E, a T (we think) and a K, this painting ticks all the right boxes. The painting was recently backed and if you look closely on the reverse side of the picture frame, it really begins to show its age.
